The best note taking application
As a graduate student, I use my iPad for taking notes in my classes. I have tried 3 different note taking aps and have found Notability to be my favorite for its functionality, note organization system, and ability to detect my stylus.
For Hard of Hearing, Clarity Out of the Din
Mr. Einhorn’s ad hoc solution to restaurant racket is a feasible one, said Jay T. Rubinstein, a professor of bioengineering and otolaryngology at the University of Washington. “It makes sense when you need to capture a speaker’s voice in a noisy environment,” he said. “A system that gives you a high-quality directional mike and good earphones can help people hear in a complex setting.” One app he uses is soundAMP R, which is $4.99
Notability: An excellent note-taking, PDF annotation tool
Enter Notability: the app is perfectly suited for creating new notes and annotating PDFs, which made it the ideal candidate for making my studies just a bit more pleasurable. Notability is one of those App Store gems that is worth your investment of time and money. Pick it up now and discover a great example of what you COULD be doing with your iPad in the classroom or workplace.
iPads and Notability in the Classroom The makers of Notability (the most popular productivity app in the App Store) market it as a "note-taking" app, but it's so much more than that. I use it as an alternative to PowerPoint and Keynote because of the program's ability to quickly add web images, screen shots, pictures from your camera roll, videos, and both written and typed text.
Sketching out a future - Notability Notability has a built-in palm rest, so you can rest your wrist on the bottom half of the iPad screen while writing with a stylus, and your wrist won't make a mark. Notes in Notability can be taken on 15 types of virtual paper, like one with purple polka dots. This app includes a bonus: the ability to tap a microphone icon to add audio recordings to notes.
Notability aims to replace pen and paper in the classroom A new digital system for notes aims to make paper and pencil obsolete. Now there is an app for capturing information digitally that helps you take notes. Notability is the all in one note-taking app that combines writing, recording, typing, and web sharing. This app has become the #1 best selling app for iPad in the US and several other countries. If mobile devices and apps help students learn, then they are instrumental for education.
Notability Note-taking Extreme
Ginger Labs hit it out of the park with Notability. This app fills a great need for note taking software. Many times when taking notes I wish I could go back to hear exactly what the speaker was saying. Another top feature of this app is it's handwriting ability. Instead of just writing actual size, Notability allows you to zoom in first, handwrite in zoomed mode, then zoom out when you're done. This allows you to provide ver fine handwriting or handwritten details to a note.

Locally developed app hits No. 1 on iPad best-seller list. The story behind the note-taking app Notability – combining Stanford University and University of California engineering talent and the efforts of several graduates of Gunn and Palo Alto high schools – offers a glimpse into the universe of thousands of app developers...Notability allows a user to record a presentation and simultaneously take notes. Later, the user can tap a piece of text in the the notes and hear what was said at the same point in the lecture, or any audio recording.
Note to self: Remember to Read this Article
With Notability, if you record a lecture or a presentation and take notes simultaneously, you can touch a word and hear what was said when you wrote the word. For students, doctors and coaches, among others, this feature will be highly useful.

Take note, This is how its done
"As you might expect, Notability records your written thoughts in a portfolio-style pad not unlike the one in Notes, but its array of features quickly set it apart from Apple's one-trick pony. For one, the font type, size, and color isn't limited to three lame style options; for another, notes can include photos (which can be resized and cropped, but not rotated), Web clippings, and in-app sketches."
Notability is a simple yet powerful note-taking app for iPad
"Notability is a simple yet powerful note-taking app for iPad that allows you to jot down notes in lectures or meetings, outline certain ideas and plans, or just collect your thoughts in an organized format. It's a piece of cake to punch in text in a certain font or layout, then add all kinds of media, from web clips to diagrams. You can link up audio to your notes, even connecting text to sound with a clickable link. When your notes are saved, you can sync them off to Dropbox or iDisk, or you can email them off to another computer to work on elsewhere."
Ginger Labs has created a great app for note taking
"With so many other note taking apps our there, Notability also has some unique features that make them stand out from the rest. Notability is setup by subject. You can create multiple subjects and put multiple notes in each subject. Sounds simple enough. However where Notability shines is in the power of their notes. At first you will notice the standard fanfare that you come to expect form a note taking app. Folder (aka subjects), search, edit, email the note etc. However you can also sync to iTunes, Dropbox and print your notes."
Notability is one of my favorites
Use it for writing and sketching, recording, voice notes, and text notes are tied to audio. You can export recordings and notes through multiple cloud services which is critical and Notability is very flexible. This is huge.
Notability - A cheaper alternative to Apple's Pages
"Notability, a recently updated app for iPad, can best be described as a cross between a multimedia notepad -- allowing you to type, draw, speak and copy photos and Web links on a digital canvas -- and a powerful word processor, like Apple's Pages, that lets you type up longer-form pieces, such as essays, work reports or blog entries. More so than other note-taking app for iPad, Notability is a versatile tool for capturing thoughts and ideas, creating content and copying media from various sources -- all in an accessible way."

Notability: The Best Note-Taking App Ever?
"Well that's the plan here with Notability, an app that acts like a notebook for you iPad, complete with custom images, recordings and everything else you could hope for. The goal with Notability is to do all that and then some, making it as versatile as possible."
Better notes mean better grades
"Notability might be the best note-taking application we've seen for the iPad, with tons of useful features that are easily accessed through the app's intuitive interface. Perfect for students or really anyone who needs to gather and organize information, Notability lets you use your onscreen keyboard (or a compatible Bluetooth keyboard) to keep track of information by grouping your notes into categories by subject."
Notability is the exceptional choice
"Notability is a big behemoth of a note taking app, able to do pretty much anything you want it to do…Want a place to type up your notes? Check. Want to organize those notes by topic? Want to add and edit web clips, photos and simple figures/drawings? Check, check and check. Want to record your voice notes and associate them with your written ones? Big check."

Notability is an excellent tool for note-taking for the iPad
"Notability nails the balance between apps that favor creating typed notes or hand-written ones. While it is primarily designed for using the the iPad's on-screen keyboard, there is a very easy-to-use way with Notability to merge drawings, illustrations, and other graphics. If you want to record while taking notes, just tap the red button for including voice. In all a note could include text, audio, and an image for a very dynamic alternative for the usual text-based messaging applications."

Notability comes in at the feature packed end of the scale
"In terms of actual features, Notability felt more like a light word processing app than a simple notes editor as it is crammed with goodies. The most striking is the audio function, which enables you to record as you type - handy if you are jotting down points in a meeting or hashing out ideas. Or even i you just talk to yourself a lot. You can playback audio in general or the audio for the specific word you typed at the time. Clever stuff."

Notability comes as a welcome discovery
"The first thing you'll notice is its clean user interface. This makes it quite easy to find your way around the app. The clean UI, in fact, is almost misleading because beneath the simple and elegant veneer is a slew of powerful features. Everything that you need is right on the screen, such as navigation buttons for your notes, a share button, some text formatting tools, a plus button that allows you to create notebooks and separate notes within them, with a handy search button that lets you search for text across all notebooks (by title or by content), within a particular notebook and within a note itself."

Notability by Ginger Labs is a fully featured note-taking app
"The first thing you'll come across in Notability is the ability to add folder to your notes to help you stay organized. Of course, you can just type with the iPad keyboard or any keyboard accessory you have with your iPad, but that's not all. Notability allows you insert photos form your photo library, figures (you can draw diagrams or whatever you need), and even insert web clips."

Notability has some unique features that makes it stand-out
"Notability App for iPad is simply setup by subjects. Users can create multitude of subjects and then put multiple notes in these subjects. But the power of Notability lies in its note taking flexibility. Some of the common features are Folders (Subjects), edit, search and email the notes. Moreover, Notability can also be synced with Dropbox, iTunes, and print your notes services."

The web clip function in Notability is awesome
"I work in various and remote locations and I like the idea of having an app that can do all the things in one interface. Notability offers that freedom with web clips, drawings, audio recordings, and images. The app worked very well overall. Text wrap on images was a very nice feature, and the built in audio recordings were a pleasant addition. The interface is clean, and intuitive and pleasant to work with. I think this app would serve anyone looking to have a note taking app that would work for business and pleasure."

Notability is the perfect companion for the iPad in education
"Sync’d Audio Recording – One of Notability’s best features is how it seamlessly syncs the audio directly to the notes being taken at that time. Here is the best part. When reviewing the notes, double-tapping on a word anywhere in the notes will cue the recording right to the section of audio that was recorded when that specific word was typed. If there was a time of distraction, or something that was missed in the session, this feature allows for immediate access back to what was being spoken in that moment. No re-winding or fast forwarding or “scrubbing” to get to that point in the lecture. Simply a tap and it is being played."
-
Notability by Ginger Labs shines in its ability to easily take and format notes
"Built-in Web Browser / Full Copy – Paste Functionality – With more publishers releasing web-based version of textbooks, and eBooks moving into the classroom, having the ability quickly browse out to a site for information, and grab a screen clip with hyperlink, while being able to copy a specific section of text or images set Notability apart from other apps with similar capabilities. With the added feature of being able to continue to record the audio of the lecture while switching to a completely different app and then return with supplemental information is amazing."
-
Notability offers an entirely new way of making notes and keeping information
"When it comes to the design of this app, it has been designed in a really nice way and the app is a pleasure to look at and use on a regular basis. When you open the app, you will be presented instantly with the well designed workspace where you will be able to take notes and use the many other features of the app. The app is designed really nicely with a menu bar at the top and bottom of the screen which will give you access to all of the tools that you will ever need in the app without intruding on your workspace."
A few added features make Notability a standout
"First off, there's the ability to indent and make bulleted/numbered lists through tabbing, which makes it the perfect tool for wannabe Letterman staff members who can use it to organize their thoughts, make a checklist for spec submissions or craft the perfect Lindsay Lohan-related Top Ten. It's a function you didn't know you were missing in other note-apps, but once you start using it you realize you were missing a lot."
-
Notability is so much more than another fancy note-taking app
"This app definitely takes the old pen and paper and throws them out the window, and never to be seen again! Besides just taking notes, you can also create your own custom topics and organize the notes you make into those related topics. The feature I really love is the ability to add your own custom pictures and or drawings into the app as well! How cool is that? However, the best and greatest part of this app is the ability to record sound while you are making your notes. This comes in especially handy during a conference, meeting, or even in school to record your teachers lectures. How many times have you missed typing a note and wished you could hear someone talk again? Well…Notability solves this issue with the ability to record!"

Thanks to Notability, you've got a safety net
"However fast you type, when you're trying to keep up with a conversation, lecture or meeting, you'll inevitably miss bits. Those missed utterances may have been crucial, but thanks to Notability, you've got a safety net, because it records audio as you make notes. And it will continue to capture sound if you switch out of the app in iOS 4.2 to check your email or look something up on the web. When you go back over your notes, play the audio and tap a place in the text to hear what was being said."
We'll call Notability perfect
"Everything but audio can be sent to the Figure Editor for cropping, captioning, drawing and more. When placed on the note, photos, figures and clips can be moved and resized; the text wraps around them - so long as the text isn't connected to a bullet point or the like. Conveniently, the text and graphics respect the margins of the notepad. There are a few ways to manipulate the text beyond bullet-pointing it. You can also number, indent, resize, underline, italicize, change fonts and color."
Notability rises to the top of a crowded field
"Note-taking with Notability can be accomplished through typing, ink or voice. If you try to write with your finger, be sure to use the flat part for better results. One very useful addition is the ability to record voice and save the audio inside of a note. Notability can be further extended beyond note-taking with its drawing tools. A user can insert a figure that was drawn with Notability’s drawing tool, a photo from your library or a web clip. Choosing the web clip options fires up a browser. Just surf to the site you want and press “done” to insert the picture into the note."
Own an iPad? Take Notes? You need Notability
"Developed by Ginger Labs, Notability makes note taking simple – and that’s its greatest feature. The interface is easy to understand and uncluttered, yet functional at the same time. There are ample ways to customize the text with three font styles, three font sizes, 15 font colors and your standard B, I, U functions. You can insert images, figures or web clips with a tap and the text automatically wraps around the inserted object."

Notability is a dream to use
"The iPad and iPad 2 app Notability is one of the most fully-featured note-taking programs for mobile devices. It supports text, images, and audio recordings, and contains a sketch pad that lets you not only draw new images, but also mark up images, Web clips, and clip art that you import. For writers, Notability includes dozens of fonts, text point sizes, colors and a solid number of formatting presets (such as bullet points, indents, and so forth)."
Notability is very flexible
"Steamlined, I believe it is simple from the get go. You open it and you know what you are dealing wit. It does quick notes, outlining. Multiple font, different types of colors per page, you can change anything you want, it is very flexible and that is something a lot of note takers will not allow you to do."
